The GCam Tool is a handy utility that allows you to effortlessly organize and manage your photos taken with the Google Camera app. With this tool, you can easily move your photos to any desired folder, including your memory card, for convenient storage and accessibility. Plus, it also offers the ability to prevent flipping of selfies, ensuring that your front camera photos are saved exactly as you see them in the preview.
One of the standout features of GCam Tool is its automatic sorting of portrait photos taken with Google Camera. When you capture a portrait photo with DSLR-like blurred background using Google Camera, it actually takes two photos: a regular photo and a blurred photo. These photos are saved in a new folder within your photo gallery each time you take a snapshot. GCam Tool simplifies this process by moving the photos you choose (regular, portrait, or both) to your preferred location and deleting the rest.
Key Features:
- Prevents flipping of front camera photos
- Allows customization of which photos to move
- Enables selection of custom source and destination folders
- Supports batch moving of multiple files
- Offers further rotation of selfies for Xiaomi phones
- Option to delete the subfolder created by Google Camera
With GCam Tool, you can streamline your photo organization process and ensure that all your Google Camera shots are neatly arranged. So why wait? Download GCam Tool today and experience the convenience it offers in managing your Google Camera photos!
Frequently Asked Questions Prevent front camera flipping is not workingIf you're experiencing issues with front camera flipping, we recommend checking the photo in a third-party gallery app like QuickPic or Piktures. The gallery in Google Camera may sometimes be slow to refresh the flipped image, but in reality, the image should be flipped correctly.
Why is GCam Tool getting stopped/paused by itself? Some phones aggressively kill apps running in the background to extend battery life. To ensure that GCam Tool doesn't get terminated by the system, please visit www.dontkillmyapp.com for guidance on preventing app termination.
Photos are not moved even though the options are enabledIf your photos are not being moved despite having the options enabled, it could be due to the gallery in the Google Camera app not refreshing photos correctly. After taking a selfie, we recommend checking it in a third-party file manager like Solid Explorer or ES File Explorer or a gallery app like QuickPic or Piktures to confirm if the photos have been successfully moved.
Ok, I checked with a third-party gallery and can confirm they are still not movingSome modded versions of Google Camera save portrait photos directly in the DCIM/Camera folder instead of creating a subfolder. To resolve this issue, open Google Camera and navigate to Settings → Advanced → Save all portrait mode pictures to same folder and disable this feature.
I need to save only the portrait photo (background blurred bokeh). What setting should I choose? In the Settings menu, under "Portrait Photos," enable "Move portrait photos to target folder" while disabling "Move normal photos to target folder." This configuration ensures that only the background-blurred photo will be moved to your target folder, while the regular one will be automatically deleted.
What's the deal with Motion Photos?Motion Photos is a proprietary format developed by Google, where a video is embedded inside a photo. Moving motion photos to your target folder shouldn't pose any issues. However, if you enable "prevent flipping of motion photos," these motion photos will be converted to regular JPEG files and will lose the embedded video.
What's the difference between Auto and Manual mode configuration? To prevent front camera flipping, GCam Tool attempts to identify which camera a photo came from. It does this by accessing the camera module and reading parameters of both the front and back cameras. However, certain phones may not provide this data accurately. In such cases, GCam Tool will instead read the parameters from photos that you manually select in the app's "Manual mode."
